Chimp Tracking Safari in Kibale Forest

Kibale National Park is home to the largest variety and concentration of primates in East Africa. It is a vast national park that protects a big rainforest block that provides some outstanding bird watching the forest.

Combined with simple access, excellent infrastructure and a range of exciting activities, birds and primates make this forest ideal for primate safaris in Uganda.

Many of the facilities are community-based, thus providing the local community with the necessary revenue to keep their interest focused on the long-term protection of the area.

 

Day 1 Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Have a half-day drive west through Mityana to Fort Portal after early breakfast, passing through green landscape and traditional homes and farms. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the Fabled “Mountains of the Moon,”

Dinner and overnight at the Ndali Safari Lodge (Luxury) or the tree house at Kanyankyu ecological center (Budget).

Day 2 Chimp Tracking

After Break fast, we shall move into the Kibale Forest, for primate viewing. The activity starts at 8.00 am in the morning. A half-day search for chimpanzees and other primates including photos, Red-Colobuses, Blues, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabeys swinging through the dense forest and birds, butterflies and many small insects.

The guide will provide comprehensive explanations not only on primates but also on the fauna and flora of the entire forest, ensuring that your walk is both informative and pleasant. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and primates in close quarters.

After lunch, a visit to Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site is amazing, as we shall encounter rare and beautiful flora and fauna. Dinner and overnight at the Ndali Safari Lodge (Luxury) or the tree house at Kanyankyu ecological center (Budget).

Day 3 Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast Adventure the region, which has many crater lakes, and later proceeds to Kampala with lunch en route.

Dinner and overnight at Hotel Africana or similar.
