7 Days Gorilla safaris in Rwanda & Uganda

Gorilla safaris in Rwanda & Uganda in one week starts with the Kampala city tour in then proceeds to Bwindi forest for gorilla trekking before crossing over to Rwanda. Track gorillas in Volcanoes national park in on Rwanda safari then cross back to Uganda for a game drive in Lake Mburo National park and then drive back to Kampala for departure.

Day 1: Arrival and City Tour

Arrive at Entebbe international airport. Our Abacus staff will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Embark on the city tour and visit prominent places like Namugongo martyrs shrine, Bahai temple, Uganda Museum, Makerere University, Kasubi tombs, Iteso cultural dance near Kasubi, Namirembe and Rubaga cathedral, Kabaka’s lake, shopping arcades in town and craft shops including National theatre. Dinner and overnight stay at your Hotel of a good standing

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Gorilla Forest

Drive early in the morning from Kampala to the south and stop at the equator for pictures on the Gorilla safaris in Rwanda & Uganda. Follow the mystical Rwenzori Mountain range to Bwindi via Maramagambo and Ishasha valley for much of the trip.

As you drive along the road via Ishasha sector, animals such as the waterbucks, elephants, antelopes, buffalo, kobs, can be seen along the road. Relax around the camp. Dinner and overnight at the luxurious Gorilla Resort Camp (High-end), Lake Kitandara Camp (Mid-range) /Basic Buhoma community Bandas.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

 The entrance to a gorilla sanctuary is early in the morning. The rainforest is magnificent as it provides a dramatic, heavily forested and dense landscape crisscrossed by countless animal trails that allow visitors access. Recorded mammals here include the endangered mountain gorilla, the rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephants, black-fronted duikers, bushbucks, leopards, giant forest hogs as well as other animals.

This park is best known for the fascinating gorillas, where the time is taken and terrain varies according to the movements of these marvelous primates. The thrill of spending time with and observing these gentle giant gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure that will leave you with long-lasting memories of a truly unique experience.

The gorillas are shy and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact with each other. Dinner and overnight at the Camp.

Day 4: Cross to Rwanda – Gorilla safaris in Rwanda & Uganda

After breakfast, drive to Kisoro and cross the Rwandan Border to Ruhengeri. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla Nest or Kinigi guest House

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking in Parc National des Volcanoes (PNV)

You will be early for a briefing by the guide at Ruhengeri Park headquarters in Pac de volcanoes. The tracking begins at 9:00 am. The time spent trekking depends on the movement of these wonderful giants. After the trek drives back to Uganda. Dinner and Overnight at Kabale White Horse inn

Day 6: Game Viewing in Lake Mburo NP

You’ll drive to Lake Mburo National Park after an early breakfast and enter the park through the Nshara Gate. The afternoon game drive will bring you along the lakeshore path, and the “Kigambara Loop” provides exciting guided lakeside walks with its own scheme of game paths and cleared walks. Here you can find herds of zebra, cape buffalo and eland, and Pribi and topi are easy to approach.

Many tourists also love a boat tour on Lake Mburo as well as self-guided nature trails, along with the game drive. Bird watchers will appreciate over 250 species of birds discovered in Lake Mburo including Papyrus Gonoleks, Brown-faced Lapwings, Carruther’s Cisticolas, the exceptional White-winged Warbler, and Bare-Faced Go-away bird. After the activities in the park drive to Masaka for your dinner and overnight at Brovad Hotel

Day 7: the Equator, Royal Drum Makers, and Entebbe

The drive back to Kampala stops at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers after early breakfasts, head to Kampala and arrive soon enough for your lunch. Here you will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through generations.

There will also be time to stop at the equator for photographs and you will arrive in Kampala by midday. Be transferred to the airport for your flight.
