Aberdare National Park is 343 kms from Nairobi, they are placed on an Altitude of 2500-4000 ft
Occupying an area of 104 sq. kms.

Aberdare National Park is part of the Aberdare Mountain Range. Deep valleys, streams and rivers as well as cascading waterfalls feature in this region. The Aberdare Country Club nestles on the slopes of Mweiga Hill with a superb view of the plains below, with the Aberdare range of mountains to the west and Mount Kenya to the East. Along with game viewing in the 1300 acre surrounding sanctuary, the club also offers activities such as golfing, horse riding and nature walks.

In this safari you are entitled to encounter a variety of adventures with a mountain range running through the Aberdares. You’ll find ice-cold streams, thick forests, and moorland. This high altitude area has been described as ‘Scotland with Lions’. Aberdares is blessed with plenty of wild life including the endangered Black Rhino, Elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard and bushbuck..

When you slope to the east of Aberdares you’ll find the well-known above ground safari lodges, The Ark and Treetops to accommodate you at a reasonable price These lodges are also one of the main attractions of the Aberdares as both are built above the ground adjacent to floodlit waterholes with salt licks. This place hosts plenty of wild life in the night next to the water hole. This area was put on the tourist map in 1950 when Princess Elizabeth became Queen of England while she was on safari in the Aberdares.
