8 Days Mountaineering & Hiking Trip To Mount Elgon

8 Days Mountaineering safari is done at Mount Elgon. Elgon isn’t a hard climbing mountain. Aspiring hikers need to be reasonably fit, but there is no need for special facilities or abilities to achieve the peaks, and the mountain is not so high that there is a severe danger of altitude-related diseases that frequently affect hikers on the upper slopes of the Kilimanjaro or Kenya mountains.

Elgon can be climbed at any time of the year, though the dry season (June-August and December-March). The most favorable months are November and December given the fact that it is when the highland flowers are in bloom.

Traditionally, the most popular destination on the Mt. Elgon is the Sipi Falls where the Sipi River rises on the upper slopes of Mt. Elgon before cascading down the foothill over &km to form a series of four pretty waterfalls culminating in a 99m drop at an altitude of 1,775m outside the small trading center of Sipi. The Sipi is 60km from Mbale by Road. Warm clothing is highly recommended.
