The Uganda Wildlife Authority has announced tenders for the private provision and operation of two new launches and boats in the Murchison Falls National Park.

Built to high standards, with onboard public address systems and communications, the two 40 seat vessels are aimed at the up-market visitor. They will complement the existing launch operated by UWA, which will continue to serve the lower end of the market.

“We realised that we were increasingly getting into situations where the existing service could not cope with the demand for launch trips while visitors from high end facilities such as Para, Sambiya and Geo-Lodges, were a bit uncomfortable with the mix on the service. The new launches will address all those concerns,” UWA Public Relations Manager Lillian Nsubuga told Tourism Uganda.
