UGANDA TOURISTS ARRIVALS RISE
A Total of 335,630 tourists visited Uganda between January and June this year. James Bahinguza, the general manager of the Uganda Tourism Board, said this is a 20% increase from last year’s figures.
While at his offices on Kimathi Avenue in Kampala, Bahinguza applauded that Last year, 467,728 tourists visited the country which has increased by 20%.He said of the 105,838 tourists, 75,295 were males and 30,455 females.
Bahinguza added that the figures for those through Entebbe Airport were 105,838 and 229,792 for other border posts. He also said that the country had 75,292 males and 30,455 females through Entebbe. Through border posts, there were 164,473 males and 65,116 females,”
He said most tourists came from the United Kingdom, of the countries out side the East African community. He attributed the increase to increased advertising.
Once the tally goes on Increasing, Uganda Safaris will be able to compete favorably with its competitors.
