NATURE PROJECT INSTIGATED
The event was the foremost of its category in the area. It manifested the founding of a new environmental group called NACODO- Namuwongo community Development organisation.
“Poor or rich, literate or not conserve the environment,” was the cry that Nabweru Primary School pupils sang in a performance. This was at a society conversation on the environment in Namuwongo,a hamlet in Kampala.
Julius Senyonjo the Chairman of NACODA said that under the supervision of the nearby-elected volunteers, NACODO targets making Namuwongo a cleaner and better place,” said Julius Ssenyonjo, the chairman.
The main hub is on cleaning Namuwongo’s drains, the majority of which are blocked by other garbage and polythene bags.
NACODO treasurer Bosco Lule urged Namuwongo residents to unite and enliven sanitation. They hope to construct numerous public toilets in the area.
NACODO members convene every Saturday morning to clear drains.
Conserving the environment is one of the best ways that will help Uganda avoid the impacts of Global warming. And since the environment is one of the prospective that contribute to Uganda’s good climate which is one of the tourism products, conserving it is an important factor that should be set obligatory.
