Uganda’s meteologigical Department has detected a rise in the lake victoria water levels. The increase in water levels is because of the contrinuous rains that have been experienced occassionally since early November in most parts of East Africa.

The rains are anticipated to extend up to early february as opposed to what was prior anticipated.

Once these rains continue, the levels of Lake victoria will increase.

In 2004, a decrease in the water levels of L.victoria was realised and this caused a tremediuos effect especially on the manufacturing industries and costs of living.

The improvement in the water levels will improve on electricity supply and hence development.
