KAMPALA SERENA HOTEL LISTED AMONG THE LEADING HOTELS OF THE WORLD

Published by Administrator under Uncategorized

The Kampala Serena Hotel has been listed among leading hotels of the world.
The hotel has been the first in Uganda to qualify for the rating. Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) is a prestigious luxury hospitality organisation representing over 450 of the world’s finest hotels, resorts and spas.

Hotels seeking membership with LHW apply for admission. The hotel’s managing director, Mahmud Jan Mohamed, said they were among the many hotels, which submitted applications but few were chosen to undergo the next phase of the acceptance process.
The exercise involved rigorous inspection of facilities. Recognising the hotel as a member of LHW reassures us of the continual need for hard work to adhere to high quality. The hotel has 152 rooms.

Drawing its architectural inspiration from the abundance of Uganda’s lakes and rivers, the Kampala Serena Hotel is styled around a central water theme, which manifests itself in the wrought ironwork, mosaic pillars, hand-carved panels, cascading waterfalls and shimmering water gardens alike.

Kampala
Serena boasts 17 acres of gorgeous grounds which provide shelter for a wide selection of indigenous trees; and protection for a beautiful array of flowers, birds and butterflies, the hotel’s extensive grounds will provide a haven of calm in the centre of Uganda’s most cosmopolitan city.

Published by Administrator under Uncategorized

Illuminations shall be on World Travel Market annual tourism exhibition as Uganda tour operators and few hotel owners join the rest of the exhibitors at Excel Dockland London to showcase their tourism products to the world from the 10th of November to the 13th of November 2008 . Companies that shall represent Uganda include, Civil Aviation Authority, Uganda wildlife Authority, Abacus African Vacations, Golf Corse hotel, Metropole Hotel among others.

2008 has been a land mark year with several up market lodges and hotels being established in Uganda’s National parks. This follows the boom in the newly constructed hotel in the capital city leading up to common wealth head of Government meeting hosted in Kampala in November of 2007. Coupled with the country’s diversity in luxuriant flora and vast scale of fauna excellent climate and adventure, it is only timely that we should not deprive the industry of our endowment but give maximum visibility by applying a mix of tools ranging from such international expos, familiarization press trips to marketing.

Cognizance of the current global melt down in previously sound financial institutions should be taken into perspective since most affected institutions are domiciled in our leading tourist markets. For now or at least on the surface tourism Uganda seems to be defying the effects global squeeze by opting for storied stand in camaraderie with stake holders, Uganda wild life Authority , Association of Uganda Tour operators, and now even the Hotel Owners Association is starting to listen . All when the Tourism Act is not yet in effect. The gamble will not doubt pay off.
